A LITTLE ABOUT ME ✳

Curiosity is
where it begins.

Exploring materials, electrochemical interfaces and the science behind next-generation energy storage.

I am a Chemical and Electrochemical Engineer with a strong interest in understanding the science behind energy storage materials and electrochemical systems. My academic journey at CSIR–Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI) introduced me to the interdisciplinary nature of electrochemistry, where materials science, physics and chemistry come together to address complex scientific challenges. During my undergraduate research, I explored several areas, including electrochemical systems under external electromagnetic fields, plasmonic nanostructures for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), and single-atom electrocatalysts. These experiences shaped my curiosity about the relationship between material properties, interfacial phenomena and electrochemical behaviour.

I currently work as a Project Associate at the Research Institute for Sustainable Energy (RISE), TCG CREST, where my research focuses on advanced electrolytes and next-generation rechargeable batteries. My work involves developing polymer-based electrolytes for lithium- and sodium-ion batteries, investigating ion transport and electrode–electrolyte interfacial chemistry, and exploring strategies to improve the performance of lithium-metal and silicon-based battery systems. I am also involved in developing SHINERS-assisted operando Raman spectroscopy platforms to investigate electrochemical interfaces. Previously, I was a research fellow at National Chi Nan University, Taiwan, through the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), where I worked on porous silicon photonic structures and electromagnetic-field-assisted electrochemical processes. These experiences have allowed me to approach research from different perspectives, combining experimental electrochemistry, materials characterisation, spectroscopy and computational modelling.

Beyond my immediate research interests, I am fascinated by the fundamental mechanisms that govern how materials behave, interact and evolve under different conditions. I enjoy moving between disciplines, learning unfamiliar techniques and approaching problems from multiple angles. I believe meaningful research often begins by questioning established assumptions and being willing to explore unconventional approaches. Outside the laboratory, I have a keen interest in aviation, technology and the wider world of science. I see myself as a curious and continuously evolving researcher, motivated not only by solving specific scientific problems but also by understanding the deeper principles behind them.
